Brewery upgrades & some new tanks

If you visited the brewery at the back end of last year you'll have seen how busy we were, with the brewery running at full throttle. We were filling every tank, turning beers around as fast as we could, but still running a bit tight on space. So, this year some very exciting news, as we have installed with two brand new 3,000 litre fermentation vessels!

That means we can now have up to 24,000 litres of beer fermenting at any one time, a 33% increase on our previous capacity. Whilst this gives us some welcome additional headroom, it also means we can now brew some different styles and formats for keg.

Lead Brewer Ben has been developing some brand new recipes to keg, and we can't wait to share with you what he's been working on. We'll be building out a dedicated keg range to sit alongside our cask beers, under both Vale and ABC, with styles that really suit the format.

The first beer rolling off the kegging line will be Cloudbank, a 4.2% hazy session IPA. Everything a good hazy should be: tropical fruit, pillowy softness, and an easy drinkability that empties glasses without you noticing. Plenty of juicy hop flavours from Citra, Simcoe, Idaho 7 and Azacca to be found in this one.

There's more to come on the keg front, so watch this space. For now Cloudbank is available in minikegs and on draught in our Tap Room and independent beer pubs. Give it a try if you see it!
